1 SAS Who Dares Wins

ABOUT 1 SAS WHO DARES WINS

1 SAS WHO DARES WINS is a Living History Group depicting an SAS patrol resting at an oasis. The desert themed Jeep carries five replica Vickers machine guns, fourteen jerry cans and a host of other equipment.

Other items on display include weaponry, navigation tools, food rations and many other interesting pieces of equipment.

This display is based on the role of 1 SAS in the North African campaign of 1942, where they played an important part in its success before moving on to Italy and ultimately France.

CSM Pete

I portray a CSM from L Detachment 1 SAS Brigade that operated in the deserts of North Africa from July 1941. It is hard to put into words why I enjoy portraying one of these chaps and I have learnt so much about these remarkable young men’s history and what they went through, and it became clear that they were no ordinary soldiers. I feel that it is important that we should try and keep the memory of their sacrifice alive.

TESTIMONIALS

Andrew S

SAS Museum Event Organiser

The excellent display put on by the group at the REME Museum was a great success. The level of knowledge from the group alongside the attention to detail and the excellent way their vehicle and equipment were show-cased made a small display area, due to the nature of our event, a highly popular and welcome addition to the REME Museum Wartime Britain Event. We hope to welcome them back in future years.
