THE BUNKER

The Bunker is home to the Taylor Historics collection of WW2 military vehicles, equipment and memorabilia. It has been developed over the last ten years by Colin and Kathryn Taylor and is now open for visits by prior arrangement. It is also base for the three Living History groups below.

Our group believes in interacting with the general public. We do this by asking them to show their identity cards, providing identity cards to children under 16, instructing them on how to complete them and offering basic drills for the new recruits.

TESTIMONIALS

Today we visited the The Bunker World War 2 History Exhibition, where our students had the opportunity to explore authentic vehicles, equipment, and uniforms that were used during World War 2. The students asked some fantastic questions and thoroughly enjoyed learning about the history behind the equipment, especially the decommissioned firearms and military artefacts. Experiences like this bring learning to life and create meaningful opportunities for curiosity and engagement. We feel incredibly lucky to have had such a fantastic event so close to us, and we would like to say a huge thank you to all of the staff and volunteers who ran the exhibition. Your inclusive approach, patience, and willingness to give our students time, support, and encouragement made such a positive difference. Everyone felt welcomed, involved, and valued, and our students truly had an unforgettable experience.
The Pathways School

We were all amazed at the carefully laid out collection of WW2 paraphernalia on view including the vehicle collection and a wide assortment of period “bits and pieces”, all brought to life with mannequins in different settings, adding to the reality. We thoroughly recommend a visit to experience the “treasures” that Colin and Kath have collected over the years.
